Whenever I meet someone and they find out I market products and services, I'm often asked, "Oh, can you market my (insert product here) for me?"
My girlfriend has heard me do this so many times, she knows my answer to that question.
Instead of responding with "Yes" or "Tell me about your product/service" I respond with one simple question that stumps a lot of people, and that's the reason their sales are low.

"What can you tell me about your customer?"
People sometimes get stumped with that question... "Customer?! Don't you want to know about my product?" they ask.
And I'm met with blank stares sometimes.
